How Is This Web Page Made?
|
Perhaps you ask yourself how I made this site? Actually it isn't too complicated. I make the HTML
coding by hand, since all the fancy programs, which can do it for you, tend to leave an awful
mess behind. By writing it manually I feel that I'm more free to make it exactly the way I want it.
To make the layout, I use a type of programming called CSS scripting (Cascading Style Sheets). Basically, it's all about making a design, and then have all pages on your web site look like that. In other words, if I change the layout of the style sheet, all other pages on the web site will follow, meaning I won't have to change them all one at a time. Having completed the HTML and CSS coding, all that is left is oploading the pages to my web host's server using an ftp client, and the page is up an running! I use a Sony CyberShot DSC P3 digital camera when taking pictures. I reduce them to a 800x600 pixels resolution before uploading them, so it won't take too long to load them from your browser. A few recommendable programs for HTML and CSS programming could be "Allaire HomeSite" and "Bradsoft TopStyle". I believe both can be downloaded in evaluation versions. If you have questions, please feel free to e-mail me and I'll try my best to help you. |
